A space for four people

A space for four people Providence RI, 2011 Collaboration with Richard Watson Our approach was to cronstruct a space that borders on the sublime and the phenomenological, which challenges notions of space, scale, and occupancy. This is achieved through the use of Home Depot’s material pallete and construction logic of standardized dimensional lumber and sheathing.

Beyond the Panopticon

Beyond the Panopticon Providence RI, Boston MA, New York NY. 2011 Collaboration with Ian Gonsher Spatial Networking The new Granoff Center for the Creative Arts, much like Jeremy Bentham’s design for the Panopticon, is a space organized by a system of gazes. Bentham’s prison is described by Michel Foucault as “so many small theatres, in [...]

Natural Systems + Computation

Natural Systems + Computation custom software This series of computations explores biological systems in four areas – growth, variance, delamination, and structure. These processes and elements were studied, abstracted, and written in rhinoscript. The representation methods aim to recognize the beauty of natural processes, and the tension between simplicity and complexity.
